My Skincare Routine

Hi darlings♥️

I hope everyone is doing well during lockdown. I've finally finished my exams so I have all the time in the world until I go back to University in September so get ready to see a lot more content from me! :)
Today i'm going to be talking about my skincare routine. As horrible as lockdown is, it is great to be giving our skin a good break from all of the polluted air and make up that we normally use daily. Additionally, it is the perfect time to get into a great skincare routine that you can stick to (trust me I know how difficult it is to stick to a routine when you're busy almost all day ever day). I've always been quite good with my skincare (most of the time) but for the past week or so i've stuck to a routine that i'm really happy with and I can definitely see results and improvements in my skin. Some of these products are quite expensive, but this is not essential of course, I just enjoy spending a little bit more money on my skincare products.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish

So first of all, I use the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish with a muslin cloth to cleanse my skin. I've used this product for about 3/4 years now mainly in the evening as it removes all my make up (even waterproof mascara!) but i've recently been using a tiny bit of it to gently cleanse my skin in the mornings. The texture of the muslin cloth also gently exfoliates my skin so I would definitely recommend getting one of those even if it's not with this cleanser.

Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic

Next up, it's the Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic toner! This is very new to my routine as i've never used toner before so I can't give too much of a review on it (yet) but my mum actually gave this to me and i'm loving it! I really think it is having a great effect on my skin so i'm going to continue using it. I just use a few drops on a cotton pad but i'm really interested in using some reusable cotton pads - has anyone tried them? let me know!

Clinique Moisture Surge
Next I use the Clinique Moisture Surge Moisturiser - I loovee this product! I've used many moisturisers in my lifetime but this one is for sure my favourite! It is a bit more expensive but it is definitely worth it! It is so luxurious and leaves my skin feeling to supple and plump, and it's great under make-up too.

Dior Lip Glow Colour Reviver Balm
Finally I use the Dior Lip Glow Colour Reviver Balm (one of my favourite beauty products during lockdown - see my previous post!) It is sooo luxurious and moisturising and brings out the natural colour of your lips (it also smells amazing hehe).

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish
So the first step of my night skincare routine is to cleanse! I use the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish again to remove both make up (if i'm wearing any) and then again to cleanse my skin.

Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic
Toner again! The same as above :)

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Supercharged Complex
Now, eye creams are something i've been using probably since I was about 18, not only to prevent dryness but I also want to prevent any early wrinkles! This product is sooo luxurious and you only need a tiny bit of it so its definitely worth the money! It has definitely brightened up my eye area (great for dark circles as a university student hehe)

Elemis Pro-Collagen Super Serum
Next I sometimes use the Elemis Pro-Collagen Super Serum if I want to give my skin an extra boost, it makes my skin feel so soft and regenerated in the morning! Again, this is quite an expensive product but I prefer investing in this kind of stuff, especially when I start to see great results, and it lasts for a long time.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream
My night time moisturiser is the Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream - I LOVE this product so so much! You only need a little bit of it and it honestly makes your skin feel sooo smooth more than anything i've ever used before, it is definitely worth the money. I don't think i'll ever change my night cream from this one - i'll definitely be re-purchasing it when I run out!

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream
The final step of my routine is using the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream to my lips for a lovely overnight treatment (I usually keep this on my bed-side table so I don't forget). Again, this is quite expensive so I only bought the 30ml version instead of the 50ml but honestly this has lasted me so long as theres still so much left of it as you only need the smallest amount for your lips to get an intense moisturising treatment, so I would definitely say it's worth the price! Give it a try and you will wake up with plump, soft and shiny lips!

Well that's everything! I hope you enjoyed reading my skincare routine! Please do let me know if you did and if you recommend any products i'd love to hear them as i'm always up for trying new products! Comment below your favourite skincare products & most importantly stay safe! :)

Lots of love, G xxx

♥️My favourite quarantine beauty products♥️

Hi darlings♥️

I thought I would share three of my favourite products to take care of myself during quarantine! It can be really easy to be lazy during this time as it can feel as though there is no motivation to do anything, but when we have so much time on our hands its soooo important to take care of ourselves. When i'm at university I hardly take the time to get into a solid routine but i've really started to do this during quarantine and now it's part of my daily life and I feel so much better for it!

1. CHANEL LES BEIGES Healthy Glow Gel Touch Foundation SPF 25.

I’m not really wearing much make up during quarantine, so i've been using this as a concealer just to cover any blemishes or redness that I have and it makes me feel a little more alive๐Ÿ˜‚. Also, it has SPF 25 which is great as the weather is starting to improve!

2. DIOR LipGlow Colour Reviver Balm

Trust me when I say- I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT THIS!! It is honestly the most nourishing lip balm I have ever tried. It also brings out the natural colour of your lips so it makes it look like you are wearing a little bit of make up too.

3. Moroccan Oil

Honestly, before quarantine I really did not take enough of the time to look after my hair as much as I should...but now I have the time I have been using the Moroccan Oil in my hair at least 2/3 times a week and my hair is in SUCH better condition. Although it has never been in bad condition, I can definitely notice the difference that using this often makes and now it’s just a habit that I’ll carry on!

I hope you guys are all doing well and safe during quarantine!! Taking care of yourself during this time is so important! (Especially if you’re a stressed student like me). I hope you liked this post, please do like and comment your favourite quarantine beauty products!

Lots of love, G xxx

Get to know me: 5 things I like, 5 things I dislike.

♥️5 things I like, 5 things I dislike♥️

Hi everyone, welcome to my first ever post on my brand new blog!
As a starter, I thought i'd do a little get to know me in the form of 5 things I like, 5 things I dislike!

5 things I like...

1. Blogging (obviously)
From a young age, I have always excelled in English because I love writing, so I decided to create my own personal blog where I could write about all my favourite things.

2. Fashion and beauty
I have always loved all things fashion since I was younger (and even though I look back at things I wore at 13 I cringe sooo badly, it was the style at the time and I always made sure I kept up to date with trends!) but as i've got older, although I still do love implementing fashion trends, I have definitely found my own personal style and my outfits are definitely a lot more classic. I have also always loved make up and skin care (I always got told off in school for wearing make up when I shouldn't have been๐Ÿ™Š). I love getting all glammed up but also love creating natural everyday looks.

3. Luxury and designer things
Now, i'm not actually sure where this obsession came from, as none of family or friends are into this, but I found a love for designer things (mainly handbags) when I was about 14/15. I remember I got a brand new MacBook Air and I convinced my parents to buy me a Michael Kors handbag because my laptop would be safe as it had a laptop section (which it actually really is and I still use this today) but ever since then I have always loved designer and luxury handbags, shoes, clothes and much more! My favourite so far being my beautiful beautiful Mulberry Bayswater handbag.

4. Health and fitness
Health and fitness is a HUGE part of my life.  I have always loved sports including hockey, netball and tennis and also played hockey for my university in my first year. However, during my first year of university I also fell in love with going to the gym. I went every single day and it really helped me get through a difficult time in my life as it was a massive stress relief for me. Since then, I enjoy regularly attending the gym (mainly working legs and glutes I cannot lie๐Ÿ™Š๐Ÿ˜‚) as it makes me feel a lot happier and keeping healthy is really important to me! Additionally from this, I try to take care of my diet as much as possible but I do of course love pizza, ice cream and donuts too!! I also love taking long dog walks and exploring new places as i'll talk about in my next point...

5. Travelling and exploring new places
I have always enjoyed exploring new places but I haven't yet been able to explore much of the world outside of England (but I really hope to in the future). However, I was incredibly lucky enough to be chosen to go to Zambia with my school a few years back where I got to volunteer by teaching children and helping paint and reconstruct buildings. I also got to visit the beautiful Victoria Falls. The best part about Zambia was definitely the safari! we chose to canoe across the Zambezi River instead of using standard Safari trucks and the views were just amazing. Hopefully I get to travel a lot more in the next few years and I can document it on here and vlog it all for you guys to see too!

5 things I dislike...

1. Most insects
Especially ones that can sting or bite me - such as spiders and wasps!

2. Being unorganised
I really enjoy having some sort of routine to my day and creating a checklist of things that I need to do (which is quite vital as a law student with the endless amount of work i have).

3. Broken promises/lies
Now this may be a bit naive of me, but I always stick to my promises and I am always honest and upfront about situations and I expect people to do the same for me. Unfortunately, this is not always the case though and can (and has in the past) led to me being let down or taken for granted.

4. Social media (the negative side)
Although social media is a great platform for networking, keeping up with friends, and of course it is important to me for my blogging, it can also be extremely toxic, especially to younger individuals. Young girls especially begin to feel insecure in comparison to Instagram models who photoshop their pictures to perfection and are also vulnerable in relation to sexual exploitation due to the lack of privacy controls on many platforms, in addition to the ease for people to pretend to be someone they are not – for example older men portraying to be young boys. This is quite scary and would worry me if I was a parent of a child! Furthermore, online bullying and harassment is also a huge issue – it is so easy for individuals to hide behind a keyboard and type nasty comments with the touch of a button which can have severe mental health effects on the victim. I just wish everyone would be a bit more kind to each other!

5. Sea food and nuts! ๐Ÿ˜ท
I can eat cod and tuna, but any other sea food and all nuts are a completely no no for me! I can't even stand the smell! ๐Ÿ˜‚

That's all from me today! I hope that his gave you a little insight into me (but i'm sure you start to get to know me a bit better as I start to blog more frequently in the future).
Please follow me on the rest of social media to keep up to date! and always, don't hesitate to get in touch i'd love to hear from you! Comment down below 5 things you like, and 5 things you dislike as i'd love to get to know you guys too!
Lots of love, G♥️
